One of the best sunsets in Japan–you can enjoy the fantastic sight of planes flying through the sky, Akashi Kaikyo Bridge, and Awaji Island all at once.

The Four Seasons Spring: from 18:00 to 21:00 this fountain is lit up, making for a wonderful night view. There are three large rings in the fountain that represent the sun’s path during the summer solstice, spring and fall equinoxes, and winter solstice. A thoughtful way to represent each season!

Within the park you can enjoy the “Inner Sea”–this area shares the same tide cycle as the outer bay so you can watch as the tides rise and fall. A great place to enjoy nature with your family!

Next to the Inner Sea is Marble Beach–a rare beach filled with white marble. It’s the first area in Osaka to be listed as a Koibito no Seichi or “Holy Land for Lovers”–these areas are usual beautiful places surrounded by nature. While it is beautiful during the day, it is even more beautiful at night! Not only is it designated as a Koibito no Seichi, but also one of the top 100 sunsets in Japan!

Lastly, for those of you with even more time on your hands, there’s Izumisano City just one stop away from Rinku Town.

At the open-air market, you can buy the freshest fish! It’s said that it only takes about 2 hours from port to being sold. Negotiate the price and feel like a winner when you get the best fish around! Most of the time sales start in the morning, but at Izumisano’s market they start from the afternoon–so you can enjoy watching the bidding take place. You can get a taste for how fresh this fish is at the sushi and fish restaurants, all with a wonderful view of the sea!

Back in the Edo Period Izumisano flourished from farmers, fishermen, merchants, and craftsmen who made the town their own. During that time the Machiya-Kan was built by the Niigawa family who ran a soy sauce business. Now it is a cherished piece of cultural property in Izumisano where you can feel like you stepped back in time to the Edo period and appreciate not just the architecture but understand what the daily life must have been like.
